24/11/08 - Thank you email

Hi Millar Mccowans,

I've finally had the chance and time to use my laptop in a wi-fi hotspot on the base to finally send you a better photo of the lads with your toffee.

The picture was taken with the Royal Navy Harrier (Jet) Squadron alongside the Navy guys who maintain the Harriers and the Army Supply Squadron that I'm assigned to. The other is with two Army lads who drive the Vikings from B Squadron, Scots Dragoon Guards . The picture with the JCB is with Army lads from 61 Supply Squadron, Royal Logistic Corps. Each photo was taken on very hot and sunny days here on Kandahar Air Force Base.

I am fortunate enough to know that I shall soon be ending my tour here. There are new lads and lassies here and quite a few are from Scotland, two of which are working in the same store as myself.

Thank you to you and all your staff for all the generous support you have showed us all out here, and many thanks again for a First Class effort in sending out Highland Toffee etc to the lads and lassies out here.

It has certainly increased their moral and re-inforcing their view that we do have the support of people from back home for the job we are doing out here.
